Creation of the Flying Paint Ranch and Winged Wonders Sanctuary

Tiffani found a passion for saving animals as a child and has saved injured wildlife like deer, owls and snakes as well as pets injured or lost on the side of the road. She has even rescued horses, pigs, llamas, rabbits exotic birds and chickens.
Once an exotic bird breeder herself, Tiffani found the breeding for captivity of such intelligent creatures is bad and she is now an advocate against captive breeding. Rescuing troubled birds is her specialty because of her extensive behavior and psychological understanding of parrots. From incubating eggs, hatching out and hand feeding macaws to now rescuing parakeets and roosters, who knew she would become such an asset for troubled birds?

There are several roosters needing homes every day in cities that allow chickens but not roosters. San Diego is a mecca for homeless roosters. Email Tiffany

Tiffani saved 138 roosters and 20 parrots of all sizes in eleven months of craigslist and internet rescues, and has now built even larger pens and open range areas. The amazing world of birds is enjoyed by all the former owners. The ranch is not open to the public due to protecting the health of the birds.

We Need Your Help!  We need to request donations from the public in the form of dog houses, chicken coops, feeders, crocks, shelters, wire, chain link, chicken or hog fencing, panels, sheets of plywood, hen houses, dog igloos and just about anything that can be constructed into a wind or rain break and any items to make enclosures for free range birds.

Our budget is in large flights for big exotics to have large space, medical needs for incoming birds and of course the feed bills. We know all the animal lovers out here in So Cal will come forward and give us their old items not being used and help us out tons! We also will accept chicken and parrot feed!

We are also in need of rolls of old 6 ft chain link. It is best for our preventative barrier against coyotes! Can you help us?

Thank you for all the feed and wire donations given by the local people!
You've helped these birds as much as we have by giving shelters that will last for years.

With Gratitude,
-Tiffani

I DO NOT RESPECT
FREE FLIGHT EXOTIC BIRD SANCTUARY in DEL MAR"

Sadly these people get money with this behavior....
www.freeflightbirds.org sent me these emails. After reading such hatred and slanderous name calling I researched this organization. NOT GOOD!  I clearly see we have completely different concepts of caring for owners and the birds, and our greed levels are worlds apart!! They are asking for money to take in a bird otherwise they refuse it! That is wrong to do! How cruel! I was shocked that she wrote, "I don't give a sh#t what the former owner wants because they gave up the bird!" That is wrong to do also. So this is how these people help owners and birds? NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME! The emails I had received from THERESA RIJ of FREEFLIGHTBIRDS.ORG were even more disturbing because she is working in bird rescue... TIffani K.

OFFENSIVE EMAILS I RECEIVED FROM www.FREEFLIGHTBIRDS.org-
From: Theresa Rij of Free Flight of Del Mar
To: Tiffani
Subject: cages needed for bird sanctuary cages needed save a bird donate a cage!

Hey Tiffani,
The reason why it's NOT a good idea to let former owners visit their bird is that it causes psychological problems for many species (ex., Cockatoos).
Before you make broad statements that rescues are 'fake' if they don't allow previous owners to visit you need to have more experience with all types of parrots. I'm sure you mean well but you're not an expert and you should NEVER present yourself as such. There's enough erroneous information out there and you're not doing the rescues and sanctuaries any favor by being competitive and stating untrue facts.
Shameful.............

FROM: Theresa Rij of Free Flight of Del Mar
Wow, you're foul! You obviously don't know shit about parrots and when people ask me about your sanctuary I tell them that you're sketchy. Cockatoos are way too emotional to keep being reminded that they were ripped from their home by having their owners come whenever and then leave them again and again. Who gives a shit what the previous owner wants - they gave their bird up. Once they do, YOU should do what's right for the bird - not you just hoarding birds. You need to check out your reputation online - there's too much negative stuff. And, don't drink and type....ever.
